XLPE Electrical Cable
Cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulated electrical cable is widely used in modern power systems because of its excellent electrical and mechanical properties. XLPE is a thermosetting polymer produced by cross-linking polyethylene molecules, which transforms the material from a thermoplastic into a three‑dimensional network structure. This cross‑linking significantly improves thermal stability, dielectric strength, and long‑term reliability compared with conventional PVC or PE insulation. In construction, an XLPE power cable typically consists of a conductor, XLPE insulation, metallic screen or shield, bedding, armor (if required), and an outer sheath. The conductor is usually copper or aluminum, designed in solid or stranded form to achieve the required current‑carrying capacity and flexibility. The XLPE insulation layer is extruded around the conductor and cross‑linked using chemical or physical processes such as peroxide cross‑linking, silane cross‑linking, or irradiation. Surrounding layers provide mechanical protection, moisture resistance, and electromagnetic shielding. One of the key advantages of XLPE insulated cable is its high operating temperature. It can generally operate continuously at 90°C conductor temperature, withstand short‑circuit temperatures up to 250°C for a short duration, and maintain its electrical performance under thermal stress. This allows a higher current rating for the same cross‑section compared to many traditional insulation materials. In addition, XLPE exhibits low dielectric loss, high insulation resistance, and excellent breakdown strength, making it suitable for medium and high voltage power transmission and distribution.XLPE cables also offer good resistance to chemicals, moisture, and environmental aging. The cross‑linked structure reduces the tendency of the insulation to flow or deform under load, improving resistance to creep and mechanical stress. This makes XLPE cable suitable for installations in industrial facilities, underground ducts, tunnels, and harsh outdoor environments. When combined with appropriate armoring, it can be used in areas subject to mechanical impact or rodent attack. From an installation perspective, XLPE power cable is relatively lightweight compared with many oil‑impregnated or paper‑insulated alternatives, and it can be supplied in long continuous lengths, reducing the number of joints. Its flexibility facilitates bending and routing in confined spaces, and the absence of liquid insulation eliminates the risk of oil leakage. Maintenance requirements are generally low, and the cable’s service life can reach several decades if properly designed, installed, and operated within its specified limits.XLPE insulated cables are produced in a wide range of voltage classes, from low voltage building wiring up to extra high voltage transmission. They are commonly used for utility distribution networks, renewable energy connections, industrial plants, commercial complexes, and infrastructure projects such as railways and airports. Ongoing developments focus on improving cross‑linking technology, reducing space charge accumulation, and enhancing fire performance to meet increasingly strict safety and environmental standards.

15kv 25kv 35kv Multi-Layer AAC AAAC ACSR Aerial Philippines XLPE Electrical Tree Wire Spacer Cable
Category: Overhead insulated line wiresBrowse number: 447Number:Release time: 2025-08-01 03:32:2615kv 25kv 35kv Multi-Layer AAC AAAC ACSR Aerial Philippines XLPE Electrical Tree Wire Spacer Cable Designed for high-voltage power transmission in the Philippines, this multi-layer aerial cable combines advanced materials and engineering to deliver exceptional performance across 15kV, 25kV, and 35kV networks. Available with conductors including AAC (All-Aluminum Conductor), AAAC (All-Aluminum Alloy Conductor), and ACSR (Aluminum Conductor Steel Reinforced), it caters to diverse load and environmental demands. The cable features a robust XLPE (cross-linked polyethylene) insulation layer, engineered to resist electrical treeing—a critical factor in preventing insulation breakdown in high-voltage applications. Its multi-layer structure enhances mechanical strength and thermal stability, ensuring reliable operation in extreme temperatures (-40°C to 90°C) and humid tropical climates. Equipped with tree wire spacers, the cable maintains optimal conductor spacing, minimizing corona discharge and electromagnetic interference. This design is particularly suited for the Philippines’ varied terrain, from urban centers to rural areas, where durability against typhoons and corrosion is essential. Compliant with local and international standards (e.g., PNS, IEC), it undergoes rigorous testing for tensile strength, dielectric resilience, and weather resistance. Whether for grid expansion, renewable energy integration, or industrial power links, this cable offers a cost-effective, low-maintenance solution for stable high-voltage transmission.
